An Admission

If there are only a few months left to live, there are some things I want to do differently.

One of those things is telling people what I really think. Sometimes I find it hard to be direct and tactful.

Another is keeping the right people close and the right people at a distance.

A few weeks ago I gave up alcohol and caffeine because I was tired and irritable. I feel a lot better.

The most important thing is to get in touch with the people I care about and to be kind to them.

As for everyone else – hey. We didn’t click, or we quarrelled, or whatever. You showed me your boobs instead of tipping. Or you used the Superwash, not the Quickwash. Somewhere out there, a meteor is falling through space with our name on it, casting a shadow across the universe. Whatever happened between us, it’s OK. Deep down, I don’t care as much as I made out. In the end, stuff like that doesn’t matter.

Nothing really matters.
